When I was young I thought
that age would bring me wisdom;
total wisdom and the answers
to all the questions that arrived.
Now age is coming to me;
oh yes, age is settling on me,
and some questions have been answered,
but new ones have arrived.
These questions have no answers;
they never will have answers,
so I can't give the answers,
but the question is enough.
When a question wants an answer,
and that answer just eludes me,
I just leave it for the young folks,
for they need questions too.
And if this speaks of wisdom,
and the wisdom isn't total,
total wisdom hasn't found me;
semi-wisdom has to do!
