Some years back, a lovely portion of the road that runs along the north rim of the valley was rendered ugly by loggers.
A large portion of the area sloping to the road was left in a mess because the loggers took only the large logs they wanted, and then they beat it out of there.
In other words, they left the slope in slop!
For a good long time it hurt to pass that area, whatever the season. Now after several years, Bob and I pass by today and find the phlox and other wildflowers have veiled the ugliness, and once again that stretch of country road is lovely to look at!
Thank you, Mother Nature, for your healing hand.
(To think some people still refer to wildflowers as WEEDS!!)
